DIY Mobile Craft: Create a Seaside Hanging Decoration

Quick answer

Use the Al Mare DIY Mobile Craft kit to paint the nine fish and bird cards with watercolors, then assemble them on the included string to create a seaside hanging decoration.

Step-by-step guide

1. 1. Prepare your workspace: Lay out the animal cards, watercolor paints, brush, and string on a flat, covered surface. Fill a small cup with water for rinsing the brush. Cover the table with newspaper or a plastic mat to avoid stains from watercolors.
2. 2. Paint the cards: Dip the brush in water, then pick a color from the paint set. Paint the fish and bird cards one by one. Let each card dry for a few minutes before moving to the next. Use light brush strokes to avoid soaking the card; too much water can make the paper wrinkle.
3. 3. Assemble the mobile: Cut the 2m string into pieces of varying lengths—for example, 20 cm, 30 cm, and 40 cm. Tie one end of each piece to a painted card. Then tie the other ends to a central point, such as a stick or a ring, to create a balanced mobile. Check that the mobile hangs evenly by adjusting string lengths; a lopsided mobile may not spin freely.
